Barbara Sue (Holland) Caldwell

Barbara Sue Holland Caldwell, Stowe Rd., Clover, SC
Born July 16, 1933 to the late Oran Baldwin Holland & Ruby Faye Cabe Holland in Franklin, NC.
She was raised in the Appalachian Mountains of NC along side the Nickajack Creek in the Cullasaja Community outside of Franklin, NC. She lived with her parents & her late beloved younger brother Max Leon Holland.  They were a very close knit family surviving on the land. 
She attended Franklin High School in Franklin, NC graduated in 1951, & Western Carolina University with BS in Business, graduated in 1955.  Her first job was as a teacher in Business/Book Keeping at East Mecklenburg High School, Charlotte, NC after one semester she decided teaching was not for her & sought out other employment.  Her new job was at Charlotte Aircraft Corporation as Administrative Assistant to Jenks Caldwell, Sr., which is how she met & married her husband of 59 years James Richard Caldwell.  Barbara & her husband Dick have operated various aircraft services & parts businesses until their retirement in the late 1980’s.
Survived by her husband, James Richard Caldwell, Clover, SC; two Daughters, Susan Richee’ Caldwell Killian (Bryan F. Killian), Clover, SC & Jill Richelle Caldwell Yost (J. Richard Yost), Duluth, GA; five Beautiful Granddaughters Erin Richelle Yost, Jenna Anne Yost, Kristen Susan Yost, Jessica Leigh Killian, & Lauren Elizabeth Yost; sister-in-Law Martha Caldwell Bentley (Corsey)-Best Friend Jean B. Parham & many beloved Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, & Great Nephews.
Barbara loved to cook & eat, read  & collect cookbooks, play cards, & shop antique shops, auctions. Goodwill,& yard sales for treasures.   She passed on January 21, 2016 at CMC Pineville, NC after a long battle with pneumonia.
Funeral service will be 3 pm Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at Bowling Green Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Lisa Johnson.  The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 3 pm in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of her daughter, Susan, at 746 Stowe Rd., Clover, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Bowling Green Presbyterian Church, 250 Ridge Road, PO Box 5, Bowling Green, SC  29703 or Pine Grove Baptist Church, 7454 Highlands Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
