Daniel Joseph Hamilton

Daniel Joseph "Dan" Hamilton, 79 of Lake Wylie, SC, died Wednesday April 20, 2016 after a long illness.

Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Ed McDevitt officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Oratory, Rock Hill, SC.  A rosary service will be 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 4820 Charlotte Highway, Lake Wylie, SC.

Mr. Hamilton was born April 2, 1937 in NY to the late Michael J. and Dorothy Jane Hamilton.  He was a graduate of Manhattan College with a degree in Electrical Engineering and was retired from the FAA, Lockheed Martin and Martin Marietta after a long distinguished career. After retiring, he founded a homecare company, HALO Caregivers in Lake Wylie, SC. Dan was active in his parish of All Saints Catholic Church as well as the Knights of Columbus where he served as an officer up to the present.  He was also a member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Margaret Hamilton.

His survivors include his wife Margaret “Peggy” Hamilton; daughters Catherine (Ralph) Giraud & Carolyn Cohen both of New Jersey, Mary (Dean) Lewis of Arizona; son Daniel C. (Amy Toledo) Hamilton of New Jersey; daughter Jennifer Datko of New York; son Dr. Daniel (Susan) Olenchak of Michigan, Kevin (Jennifer)Olenchak & Robert (Sarah) Olenchak both of New York and eighteen loving grandchildren; sisters Dorothy (Thomas) Collins of New York, Eileen (Peter) Cunningham of Texas; and Jane (Al)  Bellini of Colorado.  Extended family include Louis (Evelyn) Foery, Susan (Frank) Keefe of Lake Wylie, SC; William (Maureen) Trecartin  of Hilton Head Island, SC and many loving nieces and nephews.
