Emma Elizabeth “Libby” Wallace Wallace passed away Saturday morning at her Chapin home.
Libby, 83, was surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandson. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, February 5, 2018 at Woodside Cemetery in Clover, S.C.
Born Jan. 5, 1935 in Clover, S.C., Libby was the daughter of Ural and Agnes (McCarter) Wallace. She married Billy Camp Wallace, also of Clover, on Sept. 24, 1955. She worked for Clover Schools and Prudential Insurance Company in Columbia, S.C. before becoming a stay-at-home mom.
Libby was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the University of South Carolina Gamecocks, the Braves, bridge and golf.
Libby and Bill lived in Columbia, Rock Hill, Greenville, Elon College, N.C., Altavista, Va. and Greensboro, N.C. before moving to Chapin four years ago. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Greensboro, N.C.
Libby is survived by her husband of 62 years, Billy; daughters Lezlie Patterson (Gary) and Lori Register (Jim); grandsons Grey Register (Rebecca), Adam Patterson (Hannah) and Eric Patterson; granddaughters Katie Register Hartman (Wade) and Abby Register; great-grandson Luke Wallace Register; nephews Ron Wallace (Dianne), Bart Wallace (Maureen), Rob Wallace (Fleming), Evan Wallace, Steve Smith, Rick Smith, Mel Smith, Richard Cox, Daniel Smith; nieces Pam Spencer (Pat) and Donna Brown (Jamie), Lynn Wallace; several great-nieces and nephews.
Libby was pre-deceased by her parents; brother Dever Wallace (Martha Nell); sisters Margie Dworak (John), Doris Hoffman (Woots) and Betty Mel Cox.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to MSA hospice, 180 Commerce Drive, Newberry, SC 29108. The family appreciates all the nurses who took such good care of Libby the past two years, especially Sandy Clark, Tonya Zosel and Teresa Bryant.
