Mr. Ernest A. Morrison, 85, of Clover, SC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 11, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.  Ernest Jr. was born in Charlotte, N.C., April 5, 1930.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest A. Sr. and Mildred Morrison, son Glenn Morrison, and daughter, Sandra Rorie.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Helen Morrison; brother, Gene Morrison and wife Norma; son, David Morrison and wife Glenda; daughter, Laura Cook; and daughter, Carol Potts and husband David.  Surviving grandchildren include Erica Chapman and husband David; Courtney Ycaza and husband, Fernando; Monica Thomas and friend, George Arno; Crystal Owens and husband, Lee; Jennifer Thomas and Ryan Potts; great-grandsons, Zachary Baker and Ethan Owens.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Ernest graduated from Harding High School in Charlotte in 1949 with high school sweetheart, Helen. He spent his career dedicated to Interstate Electric Company, the company his father started in 1932.  He started out of high school, worked his way to President and continued until his retirement in 1997.  He was active in the Royal Order of Jesters and the Oasis Shrine.  He was a life member of Phalanx Masonic Lodge.No.31. Ernest developed lifelong friendships and was loved by everyone.

Ernest will also be remembered for his undying love for his family and friends, his love for Jesus Christ, and strong spirit.  In his younger years, he enjoyed gardening, yardwork, and traveling.  He enjoyed spending many holidays and special occasions with his family.  Along with his daughter, Sandra, he was a die hard Carolina Panthers fan from the beginning and was a PSL owner for many years.

The family would like to extend many thanks and appreciation to the staff at Carolinas Healthcare System- Pineville , Mercy Hospital,  Hospice and Palliative Care- Palmetto Region, and his doctor, Lorri Ayers, for all their wisdom, care, and support.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, November 13, 2015 at Steele Creek Church of Charlotte with the Rev. Kelvin Smith officiating. The family will receive friends following the church service.

Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Steele Creek Church of Charlotte, 1929 W. Arrowood Road, Charlotte, NC 28217, New River Community Church, 4381 Charlotte Highway, Lake Wylie, SC 29710 or Bethel Baptist Church, 4160 Hands Mill Highway, Lake Wyle, SC  29710.
