Gayle C McCarter

Gayle Elizabeth Clinton McCarter, 77, of York, SC passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at CaroMont Health, Gastonia, NC.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 209 N. Main Street, Clover.

Mrs. McCarter was born 1939 in York County, SC to the late Henry Blease and Margaret Louise Barrett Clinton. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McCarter, brother Gerald Clinton, son Bobby Steven Benfield, step-son Chuck McCarter, and grandson Jesse Thrower. 

Survivors are her sons Tom Benfield, Ernest Benfield; daughter Carol Canipe; step-daughter Cindy McCarter; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
