Joanne (Mercer) Jones

Joanne Mercer Jones, 72, of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away Wednesday, July, 26, 2017 in Roanoke, VA.

Memorial service will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 26, 2017 at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 4820 Charlotte Hwy., Lake Wylie with the Rev. Bruce Jones officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Mrs. Jones was born July 10, 1945 in Bedford Village, NY to the late Ernest B. and Marion H. Mercer.  She was a proud member of River Hills/EMS, Lake Wylie, being the first paramedic on the squad.  Mrs. Jones was a teacher in public education in Florida, Clover Schools and an instructor at York Tech.

Survivors are her husband of 49 years Ralph Nichols Jones; sisters Sara Smith, Laura Lapping both of New York; and brother Ernie Mercer of New Jersey; numerous nieces and nephews.
