Mrs. Joyce H. Monday, of Clover S.C., passed away peacefully on August 24, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

The daughter of Buford N. Holtzclaw and Argie H. Turner, Mrs. Monday was born in Belmont, N.C. on March 19, 1932.   Mrs. Monday was retired from the Rite Aid Corporation.  In her retirement she enjoyed spending time at the beach and visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Over the past two years she made and cherished many new friends with Medi Home Hospice who gave excellent care to her every day. She was an avid Duke Basketball fan and enjoyed watching college and professional football, especially the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys.  She had divided loyalty to the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Clemson Tigers to show support for all her grandchildren’s teams.  She developed her interest in sports from her late husband and grandsons.

Mrs. Monday was predeceased by her late husband, Kenneth Monday, her first husband Jack Kale, and brother Raeford Newell Holtzclaw. 

She leaves behind one sister, Carolyn H. Tate of Gaffney, S.C.  Surviving to cherish her memory are her devoted and beloved daughters; Brenda K. Warren (Dan) of Myrtle Beach S.C., Carol K. Maroska (John), Patsy K. Turner, and Jackie K. Robinson (Joe) all of Clover, S.C. Mrs. Monday also had four stepchildren; Keith, Ronald, and Jeffery Monday and Teresa M. Gates. Her greatest joy were her seven grandchildren; Jason Warren of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Scott Turner of Minot, N.D., Michael Tuner of Spartanburg S.C., Ashley Turner of N. Myrtle Beach S.C., Elizabeth M. Love of Clover S.C., Kyle Robinson of Winterville N.C., and Kristin R. Dover of Clover S.C.  She has eleven beautiful great grandchildren as well.

The family would like to acknowledge their sincerest thanks to the Hospice team of caregivers with Medi Home Hospice, specifically Valerie Evans, Cathy Enbenter, Staci Jacobsen, and Vivian Hart.  Memorials in her honor may be made to Medi Home Hospice, 1470 Ebenezer Road, Suite 1, Rock Hill, S.C. or a charity of your choice.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Clover, S.C.  She will be laid to rest next to her late husband at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Filbert, S.C. The family will receive friends before the service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
