Lacy A Robinson, Sr., 84, of 104 Mint St., Clover, died 11:00 am Friday, July 7, at CaroMont Medical Center.
A native of York County, Mr. Robinson was the son of the late Hugh Thomas Robinson and Emma Black Robinson. In addition to his parents, Lacy was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Edward Robinson, and one sister, Susie R. Harris. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He was then employed at Celanese Corp. in Rock Hill, SC, for 15 years. Lacy retired from the US Postal Service after 23 years of service. He retired from the Clover Volunteer Fire Department after 30 years. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Brooks Robinson, of the home. He is also survived by daughter, Nancy R. Pursley (John); son, L. Alan Robinson, Jr. (Jane); daughter, Paige R. Deal (Scott) all of Clover; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Patsy A. Robinson of Clover.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Sunday, July 9 at M. L. Ford & Sons, 209 N. Main St., Clover. Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Monday, July 10 at First United Methodist Church, 123 Bethel St. Clover. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery.
