Mary (McCarter) Brown

Mary McCarter Brown, 86, of Clover, SC, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at home.

Memorial service will be 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Oakdale Presbyterian Church.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Mrs. Brown was born March 18, 1931 in York County, SC to the late Leo and Nancy Ferguson McCarter.  She was a graduate of Clover High School, class of 1950.  In 1964, Mary and her husband David, started Brown’s Heating & Plumbing and she was a lifelong member of Oakdale Presbyterian Church, where she was instrumental in starting the first nursery at the Church.

Survivors are her husband of 65 years David W. Brown; sons Lamar Brown (Faye), Steve Brown (Anne); brother Wylie McCarter (Jean); grandchildren Michael Brown (Mary), Julie Spragg (Luke), Stacie Harris (Jason), Sam Brown (Katelyn); and great grandchildren Hallie Harris, Carter Reese Harris, Jackson Adams, and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Preston Brown.
