Mary Geneva Goforth Robinson

Mary Geneva Goforth Robinson, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away August 6, 2017, at Morningside Assisted Living in Rock Hill, SC at the age of 95.

She was born April 14, 1922 in York County, SC to Sylvanus Theodore Goforth and Mattie Elizabeth McMackin Goforth.   Along with her husband Jim, she was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Clover since 1941.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years James A. Robinson, Sr. and her granddaughter Leslie Robinson Olds.  Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Sams (Jimmy) of Longs, SC and Carolyn Farris (Robert) of Charlotte, NC; three sons, Bill Robinson (Mary Anne) of Easley, SC and Jimmy Robinson (Rebecca) of Rock Hill, SC and Joe Robinson (Jackie) of Clover, SC; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Morningside Assisted Living for the loving care they gave her over the past 7 1/2 years.

The funeral service will be 3 pm Wednesday, August 9 at First Baptist Church, Clover, SC, conducted by  Rev. David Stanford and Rev. Jimmy Sams.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 pm prior to the service in the church’s COAC building.
