Oliver McCarter

Oliver Monroe McCarter, 79, of Edge Park Road, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at White Oak Manor, York, SC.

Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Mountain View Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Lane officiating.  Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Clover.

Mr. McCarter was born May 10, 1937 in York County, SC to the late Monroe Issac and Lizzie Childers McCarter and was retired from Boyd Tire and Appliance in Clover.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years Margie Alexander McCarter; daughter Barbara Hagler (Wayne); sons Tony McCarter(Audrey) and Gene McCarter all of Clover, SC; grandchildren Heather Wiebe (Eric) of Riverside, CA, Emily Wescott (Andrew) of McConnells, SC, T. C. McCarter of Houston, TX and Patrick McCarter of Clover, SC; great grandchildren Brayden and Colton Wescott of McConnells, SC; sisters Debbie Baker (Dennis) of Clover, SC, Faye Carolyn Jones of York, SC; brothers Paul McCarter (Becky) of York, SC and Steve McCarter of Clover, SC; aunts Virginia Keever (John) of Gastonia, NC and Ola Mae Stewart of York, SC; uncle Donald McCarter of Clover, SC.

Memorials may be made to Mountain View Baptist Church, 369 Indian Springs Rd., Blacksburg, SC 29702.
