Sarah (Curry) Burrell

Sarah Curry Burrell, 82, of Clover, SC passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 at Clover Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Douglass Key officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

Mrs. Burrell was born April 26, 1935 in Clover, SC to the late Joseph Judson and Martha Jackson Curry.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Max Burrell and her brother, Billy Curry.

An involved member of the Clover community, Sarah dearly loved and was proud of her home town.

She was a lifelong, active member in the Clover Presbyterian Church and was also a past Worthy Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star.

Having a strong aptitude for mathematics, Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education and master’s degree in Administration at Winthrop University and taught at Clover High School for over 24 years, where she touched so many lives.

Survivors are her daughter Jenny Burrell of Indian Trail, NC; sisters Janice Osgood (Eben) of Orono, Maine, Martha Jane Thomas (Carroll) of Charlotte, NC, Louise Morgan (Owen) of Rock Hill, SC, Betty Sue Webber (Quentin) of Camden, SC, Judy Miller (Ralph) and Carolyn Nivens (Steve) both of Clover, SC.

Sarah also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.
