Suzanne (Helms) Boyd

Suzanne Helms Boyd, 76 of Clover, SC died February 10, 2017, after a brief illness.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church with the  Rev. Bob Jack officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday February 13, 2017, at the Church. 

Mrs. Boyd was born June 2, 1940, in Charlotte, NC to the late Frank and Susie Woolley Helms. She was a 1958 graduate of West Mecklenburg High School and completed her training as a Registered Nurse at Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in 1961.  Mrs. Boyd worked for three decades as a pediatric office nurse in Charlotte and became a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 1993. 

Mrs. Boyd met the love of her life, William (Bill) M. Boyd IV when she was 16 years old. They married in 1961 after a 5-year courtship.

Mrs. Boyd was a member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and playing with her great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) M. Boyd IV.  Survivors are her sons William M. Boyd V of Washington, D.C. and Frank Edward Boyd of Clover, SC; sisters, Jean Helms Brewer and Frankie Helms Durkin of Charlotte; granddaughter, Kristin Boyd Peet of Fort Mill, SC; and two great-grandchildren.
