William Davis Johnson

William Davis Johnson, a man with a giving heart, is best described as a person who loved God and his family. Bill passed away at home on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Bill devoted his career to furthering the textile industries throughout the continental United States. After retirement, Bill devoted his time and energies to his church, Lake Wylie Baptist.

Bill Johnson was born in La Fayette, AL, on July 30, 1940, to the late William Thomas and Lula Mae Lambert Johnson. Those left to cherish the memories of Bill are his wife of 42 years, Judith Ann Gamble Johnson; as well as, son and daughter-in-law, William Perry and Teresa Johnson, of Clover, SC, and son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Susan Johnson of Aiken, SC; sister, Brenda McKelder of Bryon, GA; grandchildren, William Christopher Johnson and wife Tiffany, Ethan Johnson and wife Stephanie, Blake Johnson and Susanna Johnson; great-grandchildren, Ellie, William Elijah, and Savannah.

Bill was preceded in death by his siblings: Virginia Williams, Jerry Johnson, Judy Williams, Ricky Johnson, Tony Johnson and Randy Johnson. 

The family requests that any memorials be made to Lake Wylie Baptist Church, 16105 Grand Palisades Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28278. Bill’s family will greet guests at M.L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Lake Wylie on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at M.L. Ford & Sons. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont, N.C.
