Mrs. Docia Jackson Dixon, 87, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Clover, SC, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Oakdale Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. John Muse officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Clover, SC and also following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.

Docia was born October 30, 1936 in Clover, SC to the late Edward Martin Jackson and Edith Bell Jackson.  She was a graduate of Clover High School and a past member of Clover Presbyterian Church.

Docia married Joe K. Dixon in 1956 and resided in Charlotte, NC.  She attended Business School, after which she chose to be a wonderful homemaker, as her career.  She was a devoted wife and mother.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Joe K. Dixon, her son, Joe Kenneth “Kenny” Dixon, Jr., brothers, Edward Jackson and Marshall Jackson, sisters Dorothy Little, Margaret Tucker, Becky Adams, brothers-in-law, Jack Little, James Adams, James Tucker, Clarence Dixon, Hood Dixon, Mark Dixon, and Frank Dixon and sisters-in-law, Effie Sipe and Mildred Hood.

Survivors are her daughters Linda D. Smith (Marty) of Pageland, SC and Donna D. Johnson (Chris) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Meredith Donley (Clarence) of Conway, SC and Joshua Mark Smith (Margaret) of Winter Garden, FL; great grandchildren Joshua, Jr., Jordyn, and Morgan; sister Evelyn Pendleton (Pat) of Clover, SC; sisters-in-law Judy Glenn Jackson of Ocala, FL, Naomi Jackson of Los Vegas, NV, and Amanda Tucker; brother-in-law Glenn Dixon; and many nieces and nephews.
