Mr. Elmer Neil Brown, 82, of York, SC, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Atrium Health, Pineville, NC.

Elmer was born December 15, 1941 in York County, SC to the late William Lindsay and Nell Smith Brown. 

Elmer was a 1960 graduate of Clover High School and was voted “Best All Around” his senior year. In high school he was an avid sportsman, excelling in baseball and football. He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Stewart Brown and together, they raised two daughters, Lynn Brown Price and Susan Elizabeth Brown.

Elmer had a career in textiles and was the Vice President of Versatile Knits, Inc. In his free time, Elmer enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, tending his farm and playing golf.

Elmer was an active member of the Oakdale Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder and chairing numerous committees.

Survivors are his daughter Lynn Brown Price (Steve); and grandchildren William Brennan Price, Stephen Clayton “Clay” Price (Lauryn), and Elizabeth Price Kissenberth (Jonathan).

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lindsay and Nell Smith Brown, wife, Peggy Stewart Brown, daughter, Susan Elizabeth Brown, sisters, Mary Helen Brown and Doris Brown McCarter.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Oakdale Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 12585 W. Highway 55, Clover, SC. A funeral service will follow in the Church Sanctuary at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Matt Horne officiating.  Interment will be in the Church Cemetery with the Rev. David Leininger officiating.
