Mrs. Jeannette Louise Fortier Mayer, 86, of York, SC, passed away at home Monday, March 18, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.

Mrs. Mayer was born July 22, 1937, in Saginaw, MI, to the late Cyril A. and Meta Himm Fortier.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Mayer, Sr., her three sisters (Marie, Bernadette, and Dolores), six brothers (Charles, Cyril, Richard, Robert, Duane, and Larry), and her beloved companion, King George.

She is survived by her daughter, Diana L. Beach (Richard), Port Royal, SC, her sons, Robert P. Mayer, Jr. (Jetta), York, SC, and John J. Mayer (Betty), Saginaw, MI, Wendy Baker (Derrik), Amanda Flowers (Bradley), Chase Baumgardner, John J. Mayer, Jr. (Eileen), Nicole Klumb (Scott), Alex Mayer (Kellyn), Ayrton Baumgardner, and Timothy Beach, her eleven great-grandchildren, her sister, Donna Kennedy Walderzak, sister-in-law Carol Kennedy Fortier, Saginaw, MI,  her brother-in-law, James Mayer (Kathleen), Saginaw, MI, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was an avid crocheter, bowler, singer, and loved to read.

She retired from Michigan Bell Telephone in 1996.

Services will be held at a later date at Snow Funeral Home and St. Andrew Cemetery in Saginaw, MI.
