Mr. Jimmy Ray Ferguson, Sr., 70, of Clover, SC, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill, SC.

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Haven of Rest Baptist Church, 645 Connolly Road, York, SC with the Rev. Johnny King officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Mr. Ferguson was born March 19, 1954 in Rock Hill, SC to the late Lyle Dellinger and Dorcas “Dot” K. Ferguson.  As a young man, he worked as a cook at his father’s restaurant, Captain Lyle's Seafood of Lake Wylie, S.C. He retired from Clover Wheel Estate as a mechanic.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Ray Ferguson, Jr., a grandson, Christopher Gowan, and a brother Lyle Ferguson, Jr.

Survivors are his wife Sharon Mathis Ferguson; daughters Anita F. Coon (Tom) of MacClenny, FL and Elizabeth Ferguson of Charlotte, NC; sisters Sandra McGaha and Phyllis Galloway (Rodger); brother Donnie Ferguson; grandchildren Hannah Gowan (Alex Mora) Cameron Rowland (Tiffany Thomas), Brian Rowland, and Max Lail; and great granddaughter Lylah Mora.
