Ms. Patricia Ann Thompson Cory (Patsy), 88, of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024 at home.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2024, at The Community Church at Lake Wylie, 104 Hamilton's Ferry Road, Lake Wylie, SC with the Rev. Bob Jack officiating.

Patsy was born in Central Falls, RI to the late Fenton Francis and Frances Medieros Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Lee Joubert, sons, Jay Scott Moore and Todd Charles Moore, and sisters, Priscilla Thompson McGuy and Sheila Thompson Caron.

Survivors are her daughters Laurie Beth Ogilvie (Bruce) of Cumberland, RI, Kimberly Ann Gardner (David) of Sparta, GA, and Marlene Jane Brown of Seekonk, MA; son William Richard Moore, Jr. (Brenda) of Pittsboro, NC; sister Marlene Thompson Surrette; ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving and caring family members and friends.

Patsy graduated from East High School in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and completed her nursing degrees at Community College of Rhode Island (LPN), Salve Regina University (BSN) and Bryant University (MBA). She was employed by VA Medical Centers in Providence, Rhode Island Cincinnati, Ohio and Salisbury, NC. Patsy was an active member in her community. She was a parishioner and Deacon at Community Church of Lake Wylie. She volunteered at Sweet Repeat Thrift Store in Lake Wylie and mentored women in the “You Can Discover Change” faith-based organization. She was a member of the River Hills Community Association and was an avid bridge and card player. She loved to travel and spend time with her dear friend Jim Pugh and his family.
