Coelle McLean Snyder, 93, of Charlotte, NC went to be with his Lord on May 9, 2018. Coelle was the son of Bertha Moser Snyder and Otto King Snyder. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Miriam Kelly Snyder and his brother, Grady Snyder. He will be dearly missed by his five daughters, Cheryl Lowe of Port St. Lucie, FL; Deborah Norwood of Hendersonville;
Susan Hunter of Charlotte; Kristie Snyder of Port St. Lucie, FL; and Kelly Crowe of Clover SC.
Coelle is survived by three sons-in-law, seven wonderful grandchildren and six great
grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Erline Kelly, Jewel Baker, Melba Kelly, and his brother, Howard Snyder.
Coelle was born in the hill country of Pinnacle NC but later moved to Sanford, NC. He
graduated from Jonesboro High School in Sanford and attended King’s Business College in
Raleigh, NC. He served in the US Army and was a WWII veteran. He was a lifetime member of
The Disabled American Veterans. He was employed by Sears Roebuck for 34 years. He was a
member of W.H.Belk Presbyterian Church in Charlotte where he served as a Sunday school
teacher, youth leader, deacon, elder and clerk of the Session. He later became a member of
Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church serving on the Session and as a Sunday school teacher
for a number of years.
Funeral services will be held at Central Steele Creek Presbyterian on Tuesday May 15th at 2:00. Reception to follow immediately after the service in the Family Life Center. Coelle’s body will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, but his spirit will live forever in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, he wished that contributions be made to the Building Fund at Central Steele
Creek Presbyterian Church.
