Cynthia Pless Gilleland, 64, of Charlotte, NC passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family in Charlotte, NC.

Cindy was born September 29, 1953 in Rock Hill, SC to Adeline Shuler Pless and to the late Horace Pless.

She was a happy, giving spirit who always put others first. There was nothing she wanted more than to provide for her beautiful family and friends. Cindy enjoyed being on Lake Wylie watching the Sunset each day and thoroughly enjoyed gatherings at the beach. 

Survivors are her husband of forty-four years Elmer Eugene Gilleland, III, brother Anthony Pless of Roanoke, VA, daughter Ashley Bolender of York, SC, Chandler Eugene Gilleland of Charlotte, NC, Joshua Eugene Gilleland of Clover, SC , Elmer Eugene "Beau" Gilleland, IV of Frisco, TX. She was the loving grandmother to 7 wonderful grandchildren; Kaylee Gilleland, Cole Gilleland, Quinn Gilleland, Caroline Gilleland, Ally Morales, Bailey Bolender, and Cassidy Bolender.

The family is grateful for the compassionate care she received from Charla, Teresa, Tara, and Nancy with Novant Hospice. They were her angels here on earth. They guided us all each day. We were blessed to have them by our side.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 by Pastor Jeff Pinkston at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, 7407 Steele Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28217. There will be a graveside service to follow at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the graveside service.
