David Bates

David Forrest Bates passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at home.

Memorial service will be 11:00 am on Saturday March 25, 2017 at the River Hills Community Church, 104 Hamilton's Ferry Rd, Lake Wylie, SC with the Rev. Gayle Montgomery officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Mr. Bates was born on September 26, 1962 to the late John Simmons Bates and Mary Little Bates. He attended the Citadel and was employed 27 years with Florsheim Shoe Company. Mr. Bates loved family traditions, boating, the lake and motorsports.

Survivors are his daughter, Savannah Elisa Bates of Charlotte, NC; sons Brandon Bates and Noah John Bates both of Charlotte, NC; mother, Mary Little Bates of Matthews, NC; sister, Catherine Bates Ivey (Robbie) of Sherrills Ford, NC; two brothers, Dr. John Lee Bates (Dawn) of Jonas Ridge, NC and Carey O’Neal Bates (Libby) of Rock Hill, SC; grandson, Scott Joseph Millay; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
