David Paul Jones, 76, of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, SC.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Clover First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommy Wilkes officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Mr. Jones was born on May 4, 1941 in Springfield, NJ to the late Paul Edwin and Dorothy Martin Jones.  He was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Lynn Diamond. He was a retired fire marshall for Fairfax County, VA., a member of Clover First United Methodist Church and the Alpine Lodge #208.  Dave loved saltwater fishing, the Washington Redskins and playing pedal steel guitar.

Survivors are his wife, Melva McCarter Jones; son, David P. Jones II, his wife Gwen and grandson Finley of Fairfax, VA, brother Wayne M. Jones, his wife Viola of Alexandria, VA; stepsons, Robert Frye of Clover, SC, and Jeffrey Frye of Fairfax, VA; stepdaughter, Lisa Buchanan (Matthew) of Fairfax, VA; five step grandchildren Casey Buchanan, Lindsay Williams, Savannah Frye, Alison Frye, and Lilliana Frye.

Memorials may be made to the Clover First United Methodist Church, 124 Bethel Street, Clover, SC.
