Dr. Martha Henry Boger

Dr. Martha Henry Boger, age 65, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill, SC.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, April 14, 2017 at Bethel Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Marcus Van Vlake and Rev. Greg Marshall.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall.  Graveside service will be 3 pm Friday at St. Luke’s Reform Church Cemetery, 1775 St. Lukes Church Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146.

Dr. Boger was born October 19, 1951 in Lake City, SC to the late Charles Edward Henry and Rachel Whitehead Henry.  Dr. Boger earned a BA and MA degree from Winthrop University and an EdD (Educational Doctorate) from Nova Southeastern University.  Martha taught in the Clover School District for 16 years, where she was known as Dr. Mott, and if there was every any question as to how to address her, all one needed to do is refer to her license plate tag.  In 2003,she moved to the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System to become an Assistant Principalat Southwest Middle School.  At Southwest Middle, due to her extraordinarly outgoing personality, she was affectionately known as Dr. B. Dr. B’s passion always shown bright, whether it was dressing up every year for Halloween, playing Mrs. Claus in the City of York Christmas Parade, or agreeing to change the color of her hair as a challenge to raise money for cancer awareness.  Her enthusiasm, smile, and enjoyment of life will live on in everyone who was fortunate to have known Dr. Mott.   Survivors are her husband Paul D. Boger, Jr., daughters Lorena Boger Pate (Eric) of Sumter, SC, Heather Anne Boger of Charleston, SC, Paula Danielle Boger of Clover, SC, mother Rachel W. Henry of Lake City, SC, and brother Ed Henry (Suzanne) of Sparta, TN.
