Ernest Edward Jackson, Sr., 80, of York passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Caromont Healthcare, Gastonia, NC.     

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommy Wilkes officiating.  Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, January 28 at M.L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Clover.

Mr. Jackson was born February 20, 1938 in Clover, SC to the late Ernest Sloan and Macie Jones Jackson. He was preceded in death by his son Ernest Jackson Jr.; infant daughter Lisa Jackson; and brothers Johnny and Walt Jackson.  Mr. Jackson was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church, Clover, Masonic Lodge #208, retired from Westinghouse after 25 years of service and retired from S.C. National Guard after 35 years of service.

Survivors are his wife Bobbie Jackson; daughters Sherry Raper (Mark) of Clover, Tracie Kite (Dale) of York, Sherry Stamey (Keith) of Dallas, NC, and Diane Carpenter of Myrle Beach, SC; son Jimmy Dean McKinney (Charlene) of Dallas, NC; sisters Ethel Pendleton of Clover and Elizabeth Cloninger (Ace) of Clover; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and fur baby Annie.
