H. Colen Powell of Clover, SC passed away May 12, 2018.  He was born July 1, 1928 in Barnsville, NC to the late Lewis H. and Beulah Rogers Powell. 

 As a US Army Veteran Cole served in the Korean War, saw active duty, was injured, and received the Purple Heart.  After his discharge from active duty, he enjoyed a career in the food industry, owning several different restaurants.  Also over the years, he managed several A&P Food Stores in various cities.  In his later years, he owned and operated a home improvement company. 

 Cole and Carolyn loved spending time at Myrtle Beach, and also the mountains around Brevard, NC.

 In addition to his wife of over 34 years, Carolyn Collins Powell, Cole is survived by his sons Wayne Powell (Melinda), Colen Powell (Robin) and Ronnie Powell (Teresa, recently deceased), step-daughter Susan Baker (Bruce), four grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren  & 14 step great grandchildren.  Preceding him in death were two sisters Cassie Clemmons, and Katie Martin, as well as step-daughter Melissa Davis.

 A private memorial & family celebration will be held on July 1st, which would have been Cole’s 90th birthday, at the Baker home on Lake Wylie.
