C. Harold Quinn of Lake Wylie, SC passed away on May 22, 2018. Harold is now reunited with his beloved wife of 59 years, Jean Quinn, who passed Dec. 28, 2016. He is survived by a daughter, Karen (Ian) Ferguson of Lake Wylie; son, Hal Quinn of Lake Wylie; a sister, Betty Moore of Charlotte; and a brother, Lewis Quinn of Charlotte.
Harold was a former resident and founding pioneer of Fourth Ward in Charlotte. He worked for Southern Bell for 33 years. Harold loved to play innocent pranks on people to see their reaction. During the 60s, while involved in the YMCA Indian Guides with his son, he put a motor in a pinewood derby car for sound only, and created quite a stir. On another occasion, he saved a small black tip shark he caught surf fishing and tried to enter it into a fishing tournament at Camp Thunderbird. It was amazing how many adult men commented “I didn’t know there were sharks in Lake Wylie!”
The funeral service will be 11 am, Friday May 25 2018 at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 4820 Charlotte Hwy., Lake Wylie, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Charlotte immediately after the service.
