Joe Kenneth Dixon, Sr., 82, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at home.

Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Oakdale Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 12585 W. Hwy. 55, Clover, SC with the Rev. Dr. Douglass Key and Josh Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Clover, SC.

Mr. Dixon was born March 6, 1936 in the Bethany community to the late George Palmon and Emma Belle Davidson Dixon.  He was a U. S. Army Veteran and the owner of Dixon Industries.

He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Kenneth Dixon, Jr., four brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors are his wife of 61 years Docia Jackson Dixon; daughters Linda D. Smith (Marty) of Pageland, SC, Donna D. Johnson (Chris) of Charlotte, NC; sisters Amanda D. Tucker of Charlotte, NC, Mildred D. Hood of Pensacola, FL; brother Glenn Dixon of Morganton, NC; grandchildren Meredith Smith, Josh Smith (Margaret); and a great grandchild Joshua Mark Smith, Jr.
