John Woodburn

John Michael Woodburn, 56, passed away on the 24th of May, 2017 at his home in Clover, South Carolina. He was born on April 25th, 1961 in Fairmont, West Virginia to Lee and Donna (Arnett) Woodburn.

John grew up in Fairmont, West Virginia. He graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in 1979. After high school, he attended college at Fairmont State University in Fairmont, West Virginia where he received an Associate Degree as a Medical Technician.  He lived and worked in Fairmont, West Virginia until 1997 when he relocated, along with his wife and family, to Clover, South Carolina. Once arriving in the Carolinas, John accepted a position with Piedmont Natural Gas in Charlotte, North Carolina, where, for nearly 20 years, was employed in various capacities and positions within the company’s Field and Customer Service Departments.

John was an intelligent and personable man, a dedicated son, a responsible and loving husband, father, and a good friend to many.  He was very skilled and technically capable, an avid car enthusiast, a highly competent automotive mechanic and truly enjoyed spending his free time with his family as well as working on his specialty cars and projects.  

John married Michelle Rundle in 1983 in Fairmont, West Virginia. Together, they had three children; Andrea, Daniel, and Angela.  John and Michelle were married for 33 years until the time of his death.

John was preceded in death by his father Lee Woodburn of Fairmont, West Virginia.  John is survived by his mother Donna (Arnett) Woodburn of Fairmont, West Virginia, his spouse Michelle (Rundle) Woodburn of Clover, South Carolina; his son Daniel John Woodburn of Illinois, his daughters Andrea (Woodburn) Ford of Clover, South Carolina, Angela (Woodburn) Brandon of Clover South Carolina; his brother Lonnie Woodburn of Fairmont, West Virginia, his sisters Jana (Woodburn) Bolam of Charlotte, North Carolina, Leah (Woodburn) Shepard of Morgantown, West Virginia; three grandchildren Aurora, McClain, and Noah as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation and memorial service will be held at M.L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home, 4820 Charlotte Highway, Lake Wylie, SC  29710  on Tuesday, May 30th, 2017.  The visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.  The memorial service will be at 7:00pm.   The family will be greeting friends and relatives during the visitation.   Burial, and associated burial services, will follow later, date and times yet to be announced, at Arnettsville Cemetery in Arnettsville, West Virginia.
