Luora Harper Franklin

Luora Harper Franklin, age 86, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, SC 29710

Funeral service will be 11 am Monday, January 8, 2018 at Redeeming Grace PCA (Scherer Memorial Church) conducted by the Rev. Aaron Morgan and Rev. Alan Wiley. Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery, Clover, SC.  The family will receive friends in the Church Fellowship Hall one hour before the service.

Mrs. Franklin was born in Bethel on March 22, 1931 to the late Ralph Bigger Harper, Sr. and Kathleen Carithers Harper.  She was a graduate of Clover High School and Winthrop College.  She taught 3rd grade at Kinard Elementary School in Clover for over 20 years.  Luora loved her family, her church and to travel.

Survivors are her daughters Helen O. Franklin, Rock Hill, SC and Kitty F. Burgin (Robert), Lake Wylie, SC sons Bobby Franklin, Jr. (Carolyn), Clover, SC and Mike Franklin, Lake Wylie, SC. Three sisters, Helen Joyce Harper, Dixie H. Isenhour, and Virginia H. Tiller all of Lake Wylie, SC. One brother, Buddy Harper (Anne) of Lake Wylie, SC. Two grandsons, Neil Jordan Franklin (Anna), Greenville, SC and Nathan Bigger Franklin (Sara), Marietta, GA. Five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph B. Harper, Jr. “Buck”.
