Sam Porter, 76, of Lake Wylie, SC, and Roanoke, VA, died suddenly on November 4, 2018.

A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 4820 Charlotte Hwy, Lake Wylie, SC with the Rev. Jason Bryant officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sam's life.

Sam was born on October 3, 1942, in Bluefield, VA, to Samuel and Mollie Porter. He attended the Virginia Military Institute and graduated from the Medical College of Virginia, earning a degree in Pharmacy in 1969. Sam loved being in the company of friends and family. He was a hard-working individual who was passionate about golf, the beach and cigars. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Sam is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dian; his children, Courtney Mueller of Charlotte, NC; Eric Porter of Atlanta, GA; and his four grandchildren.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the River Hills/Lake Wylie EMS, 152 Heritage Drive, Lake Wylie, SC 29710.
