Mr. Tom Erwin McLean, Sr., 95, of Clover, SC, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at The Crossings at Steele Creek, Charlotte, NC.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Clover Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Douglass Key officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service in the Fellowship Hall.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery with full Masonic Rites.
Mr. McLean was born January 17, 1924 in Gastonia, NC to the late Randolph Erwin and Bertha Boyd McLean. He founded McLean’s Garage in Clover, SC in 1957 and was a 66 year lifetime member of Alpine 208 Masonic Lodge, a Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of Hejaz Shrine Temple. Mr. McLean was a member of the Clover Volunteer Fire Department for many years, eventually becoming Chief, in the 50’s and 60’s and was a member of Clover Presbyterian Church for over 70 years.
Survivors are his daughter Judy Lark (Larry); sons Tommy McLean (Susie), Charles McLean (Sue) all of Clover, SC, John McLean (Joan) of York, SC; sister Betty Spilman (Lan) of Newtown, PA; grandchildren Brett Lark (Julie), Joey Lark (Debbie), Caroline McLean (James), Kyle McLean, Blakely McLean, Chase McLean, Lani McLean, Grant McLean, Tressy McLean-Hickey (Colin), Mark McLean (Kelsey), Heidi Lineburger (Robbie) and Clay McLean; great grandchildren Elisabeth, Tyler, and Madison Lark; Garrett, Ellie, and Mary Caroline McNulty; Payton Bolin; Wyatt and Stuart Hickey.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Anne Ray and Nancy Hudson, brother, Joe McLean, and great grandchild Benjamin Bolin.
