Albert Wyatt Obituary

Mr. Albert Jackson Wyatt, 95, of Clover, SC, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026, surrounded by his family at home.

Born in York County on August 31, 1930, to parents Elvester Ezell and Blanche Wallace Wyatt, Albert was raised in the Clover and Cottonbelt communities, with graduation from Bethany High School.  He was a US Army Veteran, serving in Nuremberg Germany under Company B, 793rd Military Police Battalion.  He was a devout Christian and member of Clover First United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School for over 60 years and serving in numerous positions of leadership. 

Albert held dear the Memories of his first wife Geraldine Holcombe Wyatt, followed by Louise Joye Wyatt, each of whom preceded him in death.

Living a fruitful life of 95 years, Albert Wyatt thrived in the servitude to his Church, the Masonic Bodies, His Family, and His Lord and Saviour.

A highly distinguished journey traveled through Masonry, Right Worshipful Brother Albert was a life-long member and Past Master of Clover Alpine Lodge #208 and Past Worthy Patron of the Clover Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star #138.  He served in multiple leadership positions within the South Carolina Scottish Rite, York Rite, and Masonic Grand Lodges.

Among his extensive honors and recognitions of service include the Inspector General Honorary 33rd degree (The highest elective rank conferred by the Supreme Council of Scottish Rite Masons); “The Order of the Purple Cross of York” (The highest honorary award conferred by the York Rite Sovereign College of North America; “The Knight Templar Cross of Honor” (From the Grand Encampment of Knight Templar of the United States); “The Ephraim Kirby Award” (From General Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons International); and the “Frederic Dalco Certificate of Merit” and “Albert Gallatin Mackey Medal” (The highest honors that can be conferred upon a Mason in South Carolina).

Survivors are his daughter Sandra “Sandy” W. Baird (Joe) of Clover, SC; sons Albert Jackson Wyatt, Jr “Jackie”, and Richard “Rick” Wyatt (Jeannine) both of Clover, SC; step daughter Kathy H. Hayes (Jim) of Gastonia, NC; sisters Helen Neelands and Zell Biddy; brother Tom Wyatt; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Wyatt, Emmett Wyatt, and Joe Wyatt, and sisters, Bennie Wyatt and Kathleen McDaniel.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Clover First United Methodist Church, 124 Bethel Street, Clover, SC.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm in the Church Fellowship Hall prior to the service.

Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens, 1774 Filbert Hwy., York SC with Masonic Rites.
