Bertha Aretta Grant, 84, of Forest City and Charlotte, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Lake Wylie Assisted Living, Lake Wylie, SC.

A service to celebrate her life will be 1:45 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2020 at South Park Christian Church, 6650, Park South Drive, Charlotte, NC.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:30 before the service at the Church.

Ms. Grant was born August 20, 1935 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Woodrow and Nettie Baynard Grant.  Aretta was an active member of South Park Christian Church where she served as deacon and financial secretary. 

In addition to her parents, Aretta was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Hollifield Arrowood, her brother, Arthur Grant and sisters, Carolyn Rice and Linda Goforth.

Survivors are her grandson Ryan Arrowood of Los Angeles, CA; companion of almost 40 years John Grum of Charlotte, NC; four nephews and many cousins who loved her deeply.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Park Christian Church, 6650 Park South Drive, Charlotte, NC 28210.
