Betty Sue Carswell (nee Boyd) went to be with our Lord on September 26, 2021. Sue was the daughter of the late Sam and Mary Boyd (nee Giles) of Fort Mill, SC where she was also born. 

Sue is predeceased by her husband and Air Force veteran, Hubert Carswell, who was killed in Springs Mills in 1966. Sue is survived by her five children (Connie Gould; Eddie Carswell, and his wife, Melodie; Keith Carswell; Janet Carswell; and Glenn Carswell, and his wife, Kathy); 5 Grandchildren (Andrew Lyerly; Peter Lyerly; Nina Cardwell, and her husband, Adam; Bryson Carswell; Emily Carswell; and Katie Carswell) and three Great Grand Children (Colin, Owen and Sebastian Cardwell). She is also survived by her remaining sister, Carolyn Boyd Rindfuss, as well as her Flint Hill Baptist Church Family.

Sue was a lifelong member of Flint Hill Baptist Church where she had served as Church Secretary and Sunday School teacher. She retired from the Boy Scouts of America. 

Sue's children wish to state a debt of gratitude to their mother for raising all five of them (all under the age of 9) by herself. Her family wishes to thank her hospice caregivers for treating her so kindly in her final years, especially Leora. Her family thanks Linda Flynn for the wonderful care and love she gave their mother. The family thanks the Flint Hill family for their kindness and support.

Funeral services with social distancing will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021 at Flint Hill Baptist Church, 269 Flint Hill Road, Fort Mill, SC.  Interment will be private.
