Mr. Bobby Gene Curtis, 91, of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Sunflower Springs, Lake Wylie, SC.
Mr. Curtis was born January 7, 1935 in Gastonia, NC to the late Robert and Edith Curtis. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran. Bobby was the owner of Home Realty in Belmont, NC, served as chairperson of the Belmont Housing Authority, and was Gaston County Realtor of the year. He served on the Kimberlee Board of Directors for nine years, was a past President of the Kimberlee Board of Directors, a past President of the Gaston County Board of Realtors, and was a past President of the Chamber of Commerce, Belmont, NC. Bobby was also a co-founder of the Hope Chapel, Charlotte, NC.
Bobby was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Curtis, his second wife, Mae Aldridge, a daughter, Diane T. Burns, and a son, Jeffrey Michael Tatar.
Survivors are his daughter Jeanette T. Marlowe (Wayne); son John F. Tatar (Bobbie); son-in-law Bill Burns (Marve); nephews Dale Curtis and Terry Curtis; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2026 at the Park Road Baptist Church, 3900 Park Road, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends following the service.
