Mrs. Candice Tara Carpenter Galyon, 65, of Clover, SC, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at CaroMont Regional, Gastonia, NC.

A loving wife, mom, bigmom, and friend. Candy made every person feel like a best friend, and her compassion and kindness was felt by all who knew her. A faithful servant has finished her race and entered into God’s glory. 

Candy was born January 15, 1960 in Cleveland, TN to Ramona Klaudt Carpenter and the late Charles Albert Maxwell Carpenter Sr.  She was employed by the Clover School District for 10 years, and she was a proud member of the Mandan Hidatsa and Arikara Nation of North Dakota.

Survivors are her husband of 35 years, Mitch Galyon; daughter Tara Blair (Jason) of Clover, SC; grandchildren Cameron Faulkner (John) and Emery Blair; mother Romona Klaudt Carpenter; and sister Carmen Perry (Fred).

She was preceded in death by a sister, Caprice Carpenter, and brothers, Chuck, Jr. and Cameron Carpenter. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
