Mrs. Carol Ann Doel Emerson, age 77, of Shelby, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Atrium Health, Charlotte, North Carolina.

Mrs. Emerson was born June 2, 1945, in North Tonawanda, NY, to the late John Doel and Dorothy “Dorris” Herkimer.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Dale Robert Emerson, and her great-granddaughter, Sutton Reese Carol Gilsdorf.

Mrs. Emerson is survived by her three daughters, Dawn Dieter (Ruben) of D’Hanis, TX, Carrie Emerson (Allen) of Gastonia, NC, and Carolyn M. Emerson of Shelby, NC; her five grandchildren Michael (Elicia), Victoria (Kurtis), Cassandra (Walter), Amanda (Fernando), and Adrianna; and three great grandchildren Lilly, Cooper, and Leo. Also survived by longtime dear friends Sandra and Dennis Kluge and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 4820 Charlotte Hwy, Lake Wylie, SC, conducted by Mr. Dakota Stephens.  Interment will follow the service in Evergreen, A Quiet Place, 1462 Armstrong Ford Rd, Belmont, NC.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
