Ms. Catherine Faris Cockman “Mama Cat”, 87, of Clover, SC, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024.
Ms. Cockman was born September 2, 1936 in Clover, SC to the late William Greal “Grier” Faris and Edith Pauline Stewart Faris.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, William Greal Faris and Arthur Harry Faris, and her sister, Nannie Elizabeth Faris.
Survivors are her sons Rusty Cockman (Sandra) of Clover, SC and Ronald Cockman (Debby) of Wildwood, FL; daughter Robin Payton (Dan) of Clover, SC; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
Mama Cat has touched the lives of hundreds of children. They have all grown to adulthood and most are parents and grandparents now. Even through her Dementia she still felt she was in childcare; “Telling her caregivers she couldn’t wait till their moms picked them up and she wasn’t going to let them come back.” Our family hopes you can take a moment to reflect on a special memory or time with Mama Cat and know that she loved you.
The family will have a private service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agape Care (Hospice), 1069 Bayshore Drive, Rock Hill, SC 29732 or Forever Young, FUMC, 124 Bethel Street, Clover, SC 29710.
