Mr. Cook was born May 14, 1959, in York, SC, to the late Ivan Flay Cook and Alice Whitworth Slaughter Cook. He was the widower of Cynthia Huffstetler Cook, who passed away in July. Chris loved watching the Andy Griffith show every night at 8pm with Cynthia. He had many hobbies, including riding motorcycles, learning to play the guitar, and researching war history. He was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He would often strike up conversations with strangers in public, whether it be at a park bench or while waiting in line at the grocery store. He felt a strong connection to music, specifically The Allman Brothers Band. He spent his later years traveling to Macon, GA to learn more about the history of The Allman Brothers and attending concerts with family members.

McVeigh) of York, SC; son Andrew Cook (Brittany Murray) of Rock Hill, SC; sister Kimberly Oltmanns of York, SC; brothers Bobby Slaughter of Rock Hill, SC, and Roger Slaughter of York, SC; grandchildren Colton Cook and Maggie McVeigh; and countless nieces and nephews.
