James Dalton Horne, known by his family as Dalton, went to meet his Savior, Friday May 24th as a result of a tragic car accident.
Dalton was born March 25, 1992 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the son of Dave and Bonita Horne. He graduated from high school in 2010 and was the quarterback for the Carolina Crusaders football team, a talented athlete and avid hunter. After high school, he attended York Technical College and completed Lineman School. Over the past 6 years, Dalton became a Class A Line Man working for the City of Kings
Mountain and Sumter Utilities. He was proud to be a lineman and passionate about his work. Dalton was known for his captivating smile, his contagious laugh and his out-going personality. He had a heart of gold, was loyal to fault and loved his family and friends dearly. The little boy and young man that so many held in their arms and hearts over the years is now being held in the arms of Jesus.
Dalton is survived by his parents; Dave and Bonita Horne; sister Kristi Horne Castro; brother Thomas Devin Horne and “Nana" Barbara Estes. He also leaves behind 6 nieces and nephews, two uncles, Spencer Horne and Jeff Estes, and many, many friends.
A celebration of life will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2019 at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly, 5766 Charlotte Highway, Lake Wylie, SC 29710. The family will receive friends before the service Friday 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, Dalton’s family is requesting that friends and family make a monetary donation that will be used to build a special memorial spot on the family’s property alongside the pond where Dalton loved to camp, fish and hunt.
