Mr. Darris Gordon Griggs, 54, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at his home in Grover, NC.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 1774 Filbert Hwy., York, SC, conducted by Mr. Wayne McCloud and Mr. Dan Love. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery and other times at the home of his parents, Don and Betty Griggs, Bethel School Rd., Clover, SC.

Darris was born March 10, 1967, in Gastonia, NC to Don G. and Betty Ferguson Griggs. He graduated from Clover High School and then was employed by Cheyenne International in Grover, NC. Darris enjoyed his job and did not like to miss a day of work.  During his illness, the administration and employees showed much kindness and support to him.  Darris loved life and enjoyed cheering for his favorite sports teams, the Miami Dolphins and NC State Wolfpack.

Survivors are his wife, Donna Hutchins Griggs, Grover, NC; parents, Don and Betty Griggs, Clover, SC; stepson, Colton White (Megan) of Patterson Springs, NC; step grandchildren, Brayden and Gracie of Patterson Springs, NC; brother, Darryl Griggs (Amy), Rock Hill, SC; niece, Whitney Griggs, Rock Hill, SC; and nephew, Andrew Griggs, Ft. Mill, SC

A special thank you to Donna’s aunts, Roxanne Ruppe and Lee Loveless who devoted many days and nights helping care for Darris.
