David Stephens Watson, 83, of York, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Atrium Health, Pineville, North Carolina.
Dave was born April 27, 1939, in New York, New York, to the late Arthur Thomas and Ruth Louise Stephens Watson.
Dave worked as a marketing manager for Rexham Corporation in Charlotte for many years. He moved to Florida in 1981 to 1992, where he owned three Hallmark card and gift stores. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling the world with his beloved wife. He also enjoyed riding his jet ski with Rick and Mackey Land every Saturday. More recently, he and Rick met for lunch each Saturday.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy Kirby Watson; his daughter, Diane Cline (Mike), Wendell, NC; and his sons, Jeff McArn, York, SC, and Rick McArn (Viola), Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kathleen Ventura (Kevin), Zach Cline (Summer), Danielle Johnson (Greg), Kayla McArn-Wilsey (Justin), and Tony McArn, and his great-grandchildren, Noah, and Lucy Ventura, Jossy and Cain Wilsey; brother Don Watson (Carol), Belleair, Fl., niece Ginger Thompson (Bobby), nephew Ryan Watson (Cindy), Fl.
Survivors also include their furry family members who Dave called “special girls,” Abby and Sadie.
A Memorial Service will be held at The Journey at Lake Wylie, 5415 Hwy, 557, Lake Wylie, SC, on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center.
