Mrs. Deborah Scott Lewis, 54, of Clover, SC, passed away surrounded by her family, Thursday, September 14, 2023 at home after a long battle with cancer.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2023 at M. L. Ford & Sons, 209 N. Main Street, Clover, SC with the Rev. George Miller officiating. Entombment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night at M. L. Ford & Sons.
Mrs. Lewis was born September 6, 1969 in Columbus, MS to the late Roger W. and Cynthia Graham Scott. She was a graduate of Sylacauga High in Sylacauga, AL, where she was in the band and played tennis. She received her degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University in 1993. A career Veterinarian, she practiced for many years in Mobile, AL before moving to the Clover area. She then worked at a variety of locations in the Carolinas for VIP Petcare, most recently in Rock Hill, SC.
Deborah typically had multiple cats and dogs, reflective of her lifelong love of animals. She enjoyed travel with her family, particularly to National Parks and Disney properties. A passionate sports fan, Deborah’s allegiances were to the University of Alabama, Mississippi State University, and the Atlanta Braves.
Survivors are her husband John J. Lewis; son Jackson Lewis both of Clover, SC; and brother Chris Scott of Sylacauga, AL.
