Mr. Dempsey “Butch” Webb Carter, Jr., 61, of Clover, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill, SC. 

Mr. Carter was born December 1, 1959, in Gastonia, NC, to Dempsey Webb Carter, Sr. and Peggy Barrett Carter.  He was preceded in death by his father, Dempsey Carter, Sr., and a sister, Donna Costner.

Survivors are his wife, Sherry Reed Carter; daughter, Jessica Setzer and husband, David; son, Tyler Carter, and his wife Jada; mother, Peggy Carter; sisters, Suzanne Corbin and husband Jim and Lisa Varn and husband Jimmy.  He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Caleb Lowe, Mason and Jansen Carter and Eli, Easton, and Ella Setzer.

The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly Church, 5766 Charlotte Highway, Lake Wylie, SC.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 24, 2021, at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly Church, with the Rev. Lewis Gunn, Rev. Carl Overton, and Rev. Mickey Pruitt officiating   Interment will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 1774 Filbert Hwy., York, SC.
