Donald Reichenbach, Sr. Obituary

Mr. Donald Douglas Reichenbach, Sr., 79 of Charlotte, NC, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC.  Surrounded by his wife Luisa and his son Don, Jr.

Funeral Mass with Military Honors will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at All Saints Catholic Church, 530 Highway 274, Lake Wylie, SC with the Father John Giuliani officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Monday at M. L. Ford & Sons, 4820 Charlotte Hwy., Lake Wylie, SC.

Mr. Reichenbach was born September 16, 1943 in Mt. Sterling, KY to the late Carl A. and Nancye Gabbard Reichenbach.  Don attended University of Kentucky for his under graduate degree and completed his MBA at College of William and Mary.  He proudly served his country from 11/19/1965 to 9/1/1994 in the US NAVY reaching the rank of Captain before retiring.  Don worked for various companies in accounting and finance through out his professional career taking him from Williamsburg, Virginia to West Trenton, New Jersey.

Don loved the beach. Some of his fondest memories were the weeks he spent with his family in Sandbridge, Virginia and Duck, North Carolina.  He was a voracious reader it was not uncommon to find him surrounded with books.   A lover of history and education he encouraged his kids and grand kids to read and to make learning new things their life long hobby.  As he entered retirement, Don focused his efforts to grow his faith and relationship with Christ and found fulfillment praying nightly with his daughter Nancye.

Survivors are his wife, Luisa Reichenbach; daughters Catherine Reichenbach-Franey (Kyle) of Allentown, NJ and Nancye R. Hoffman (Dan) of Avis, PA; son Donald D. Reichenbach, Jr. (Michelle) of Charlotte, NC; brother Charles Reichenbach (Delores) of Staffordsville, KY; and seven grandchildren Lia Reichenbach, Lorelei Franey, the twins Margaux and Kylie Franey, Daniel Hoffman, Jr., Tristan Reichenbach, and Jackson Reichenbach.
