Mrs. Dorothy Frances Cato Thompson, 98, of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.
A funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Mt. Bethel Baptist Institutional Church, 700 S. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 p.m. Saturday before the service. Interment will be in the Daytona Memorial Park, 1425 Bellevue Ave., Daytona Beach, FL.
Mrs. Thompson was born August 19, 1926 in Daytona Beach, FL to the late Roy and Hilda Gadson Cato. She was the widow of Algernon S. Hannah, Jr. and Herbert Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Hilda Cato Mason and brother, Ralph Cato.
Survivors are her daughter Paschell H. Sampey (Charles) of Hampton, GA; brother Algernon S. Hannah, III (Carol) of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren Charton Sampey, Tamika Wright, Chantel Rea, Charles Smith, Holly Hannah, Algernon S. Hannah, IV, and Lauren Hannah White; twelve great grandchildren; and several half brothers and sisters.
