Eleanor Hope Adams Jenkins, 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Lake Wylie, South Carolina, on October 4, 2021.
Eleanor was born on September 2, 1939, in Clover, South Carolina, to Helen Bowman Adams Deaton and Elias Hope Adams. She was married to Reverend Larry Alfred Jenkins for 63 years. Eleanor was a graduate of the South Eastern College of Beauty Culture. Larry and Eleanor served the Methodist ministry for 44 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clover, South Carolina.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Larry Alfred Jenkins, Lake Wylie, SC, and her sister, Jane Adams Robinson, Clover, SC. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Judy Jenkins Edwards (Bobby), Easley, SC, and Hilda Jenkins Rickenbaker (Sid), Summerville, SC. Her nieces are Mary Helen Allen (Mike), Jean Robinson Dickson, Kim Adams Killian (John), and Linda Adams Swittenberg (Billy). Her nephews are Bill Adams (Heather), Sam Adams (Teresa), Mike Adams (Tammy), and Dan Robinson (June). Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Jerry Adams (Anne), Sam Adams (Elsie), and her stepfather, Odis W. Deaton.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m., at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Clover, SC, followed by an 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service at Woodside Cemetery, Clover, South Carolina, with the Rev. Alex Stevenson officiating.
