She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Calvin Burton Reese; her daughter, Meg Reese NeSmith (Clint), York, SC; her son, Burt Reese (Debbie), Clover, SC; and her daughter, Emily Reese, Cape Elizabeth, ME; her grandchildren, Sadie NeSmith, Braeden NeSmith, Victoria NeSmith, Kaylee Reese, and Carson Reese; her sister, Ellen Cox (John), Kennesaw, GA; and her brothers, Paul Ratchford (Wendy), Shelby, NC; and Andy Ratchford (Terry), Gastonia, NC. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Edwards and her sister-in-law, Pat Ratchford.
As a former Clover School District teacher, member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, the Gamma chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International, and the Carolina Piedmont Subvettes, Libby was a community fixture and an avid supporter of the USC Gamecocks and Atlanta Braves. Above all else, Libby, who was also known as ‘Nana,’ was a fierce champion for her family, who she loved and supported endlessly. From early morning road or trail races to football, baseball, or basketball games to swim meets, craft fairs, recitals, and graduations; she was the biggest fan of each of her children and grandchildren regardless of their endeavor.
