Mr. Eugene “Calvin” Rann, 91, of Rock Hill, SC, formerly of Fredericksburg VA, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025, at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill, SC.

Mr. Rann was born December 3, 1933, in Whitfield, GA, to the late Carl Rann and Myrtle Cook Rann. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Dolores Ambrose Rann, his daughter, Sharon Rann Neville, and his brother, Harold Rann.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan R. Murphy and her husband Michael, of Lake Wylie, SC, and his sister. Kathryn Kohut.

Calvin served our country in the Airforce during the Korean conflict, where he met his wife, Dolores Ambrose. He later graduated from The University of TN with a BS Degree in Engineering Physics. He continued to serve our country by working as a physicist for the US government and made significant contributions to ensure the safety of our country. He had an unsurpassed work ethic and moved through this life with dignity and humility. As a husband and father, he was a quiet man and chose to show his love by his actions rather than words. Calvin will be deeply missed by his family.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico, Triangle, VA.
